The Agusan Catholic Education Association (ACEA) General Assembly was held last December 10-12, 2009 at Saint Michael College Of Caraga with the theme: “Hold It In Trust: Leadership As Stewardship”. The three-day activity opened every day with a mass early in the morning with Most. Rev. Zacharias C. Jiminez presiding on the first day, Rev. Fr. Florio Falcon on the second day, and Most Rev. Juan De Dios M. Pueblos,DD on the third day. Four keynote speakers – Most. Rev. Zacharias C. Jiminez, Sr. Helen S. Makiling, Hon. Mariano U. Piamonte, Dr. Wilma B. Balmocena, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Borja, were the animators before a group of people who are involved in the ministry of teaching.
Delegates from the different schools in Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur participated in the opening parade with their school banners. In between the sessions, they also have time to enjoy their selves in the Bingo Social and the raffle draws. There were athletics competitions such as volleyball, basketball and Laro ng Lahi with the teachers enjoying the tug of war and the palo sebo..A cultural show was staged by the TESAW Performing Arts on the second night of the assembly with the concept of Island Festival that showcased different dances originated from the different parts of the archipelago. The annual assembly’s objective is to strengthen the Catholic education which is to provide relevant issues affecting private schools. After everything that is said and done, Dr. Dennis P. Mausisa, the Academic Director and Head of the Planning Office, was very thankful for the success of the activity. He added further, “This effort was a collaboration of the entire Michaelinian family.” |
