Staffers qualify Natn’l PressCon |

by Ivy Isabelle C. Suguitan Barely two years of joining Press Conference contests, two of the Michaelinian staffers, Ronica P. Chung and Ivy Isabelle C. Suguitan, emerged as national finalists to the Schools Press Conference after winning in the Regional last November , 2009 held at Butuan City with the theme: “Campus Journalist as a Catalyst for Change: Mitigating Poverty and Hunger in the Region”. Chung, a Junior, won the Best News Anchor for Radio Broadcasting Filipino category and Suguitan, a Senior, won the second place in News Writing English category respectively. Both came out in their best form and bested 45 other entries from all over the Caraga. They were coached by Ms. Divina B. Compendio the school publication adviser.

SMCC commemorates 61st Anniversary |

MIchaelinians celebrated the 61st Foundation Anniversary of Saint Michael College of Caraga last November 26 – 28, 2009. The celebration revolved around the theme, “Because SMCC Cares, It Dares To Share!”
The 3-day celebration was a blast, for everything was planned and organized. It started with a thanksgiving mass presided b Msgr. Bienvinido A. Betaizar, the school President which was followed by a grand and colorful parade.

Batch ’85 hosts Homecoming 2010 |
|
The Grand Alumni Homecoming will be hosted by Batch 1985 and spearhead by Mr. Ramil Jamen, Batch ’85 President. Year-long activities such as community outreach programs are lined up by the host batch to make the event livelier and more memorable. The said event falls every Easter Sunday of the Roman Catholic calendar. As usual, a motorcade will open the event around the which is to be followed by the grand homecoming party in the evening of April 4, 2010. |
