The Grade Three pupils of SMCC took their First Holy Communion in a Mass presided over by Msgr. Bienvinido A. Betaizar, PC, during the special mass in honor of Mama Mary’s birthday last September 8, 2009.

Mrs. Carmelita B. Autor, the Basic Ed Principal, said that this part of the school’s program to mold active Christians. “Since SMCC is a sectarian school, we should take extra effort to propagate love of Christ in the hearts and minds of our pupils,” she said.

For his part, Msgr. Bienvinido Betaizar, school President, welcomed this activity. “The school’s battlecry is Bigger, Better, Stronger, and Holier. This activity will further strengthen the faith not only of our students but also of the parents and guardians of these wonderful children,” he added.

Saint Michael College of Caraga hosted the 8th Chapterwide Red Cross Youth Congress last August 21 - 22, 2009. The two-day activity was participated in 120 young Red Cross advocates from different public and private secondary and tertiary schools in the Division of Agusan del Norte. Among the participants, Sween Kyhzil Kney Plaza, Jamaica Jean Payot, Maybelle Bokingkito, June Paolo Saguran, and Jone Kevin Bermudez were the school’s representatives.
