I n coordination with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for the celebration of the annual arts month, several dance groups in Caraga showcased a variety of cultural dances during the Sayaw Pinoy Exchange held at Saint Michael College of Caraga on February 21, 2020.
Before the start of the Sayaw Pinoy variety show, dance groups in Caraga such as the Butwa’an Dance Ensemble, FSUU Dance Company, Hugis Dance Project, Power Se7en, and SMCC’s TESAW Performing Arts Company were gathered for the NCCA – National Commission on Dance (NCD) unity dance to the song, Sayaw by Maan Chua.
The song was chosen by the NCCA – NCD, under the leadership of Dr. Shirley Halili-Cruz, for this year’s arts month celebration and the Dance Xchange 2020.
TESAW Performing Arts Company, Butwa’an Dance Ensemble, FSUU Dance Company, and Hugis Dance Project showcased the dances of certain cultures in the Philippines.
To conclude the Sayaw Pinoy Exchange 2020, a unity dance was once again performed; this time, with SMCC School President Msgr. Bienvinido A. Betaizar and Dr. Pepito O. Mosquito, the School-Based Director for the Culture and Arts.
